Priceline Hotel: 3.5*, Buffalo (Amherst) - bidding assistance

I assume that I'm essentially bidding on the Marriott as it's the only 3.5* hotel in Buffalo (Amherst).

1st two tries rejected. As I have nearly a month until I need the room so I've started my bidding low.

Attempt 1, June 9 - $40 = rejected

Attempt 2, June 10 - $50 = rejected

I looked at the past winning bids posted for this hotel and they tend to be in the $50 range. Those bids are almost always weekends however and I'm bidding on a Tuesday which I'm assuming should be conducive to getting a low price.

I plan to continue bidding but I'm wondering if the winning bids tend to be higher or lower as my travel date gets closer (i.e. are the prices higher now for July7 since the hotel still has plenty of time to book its rooms?).

As for other area options, I'd consider the Millenium but it's one of 3 3* hotels in the Airport area so no guarantee that's the one I'd get.

Any insight is appreciated. Thanks (and I am using the betterbidding.com link for PRICELINE).

Not necessarily, see the comments at the top of the Priceline Hotel List.
