Now, I have the option to do rebid with Red Eye for SFO, but the redeye time schedules for SFO are a little risky.

However, I noticed that all the retail flights for SJC are redeye, and those are the ones I want, but priceline isn't giving me the option to rebid with Redeye, only for SFO.

Any advice?

If you don't want the red-eye on the second flight then i would book direct.

How many stops is the $650 direct ticket?

For San Jose, most of the departing flights have 2 stops, and practically all the return flights are redeyes. I'm confused why there is no option to rebid with redeye for San Jose. American, United, and Delta are the lowest prices for San Jose.

I don't mind the redeye for the return flight, but I don't want redeye for the departing. SFO shows some redeye for the departing, so we would lose 1 day of vacation.

You give up a lot when booking an "opaque" airline ticket so it's not the right option for every scenario... you really need to be flexible to make opaque airfare work for your needs.
