cattman Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 Just placed a successful bid for a 4* hotel in Vancouver's Downtown area, and "won" the Hyatt for 2 nights (26-28 July 2009).I'm a newb to Priceline, so maybe this is common, but for the first time after placing an unsuccessful bid ($70), Priceline came back and offered to make things work if I agreed to increase the bid by $22/night, which would have totalled $92/night. Instead, I opted to change a detail (added a neighborhood that didn't have a 4* property) and bump the price up to $75 since I'd seen another successful recent bid at that level. Bingo! Real glad I didn't opt for the $92 "deal"!I would have been pretty clueless without this website, so thanks to all who make this possible, its an incredible resource. And yes, I did link to PRICELINE through this site.
AaronJB Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 Congratulations on your success and welcome to the site.PRICELINE "counter-offers" are fairly common, but you did a very nice job getting under the counter-offer price! :) Glad the site has been helpful.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using the site's PRICELINE link to start your bidding is greatly appreciated.Enjoy your stay.
