crazycath Posted June 10, 2009 Author Report Posted June 10, 2009 I would like to pay no more than 85 USD per nightThanksCathy
thereuare Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 At the moment $85 may be tought, but to give it a try:At the 4* level you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Downtown...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85.Any questions feel free to ask. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. crazycath Posted June 10, 2009 Author Report Posted June 10, 2009 Ok I tried did not get a room. How long before I should bid again. Do you think I am too low on my highest bid amount? Thanks for your timeCathy
thereuare Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 As mentioned above, i was doubtful that $85 would be enough at this point in time. What is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable hotel for this nite? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. AaronJB Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 HOTWIRE has a 4* (Suite, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Kitchenette, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business ) in the Downtown/Entertainment District for $137 (which would be a likely match for the Westin Grand). No idea what the exchange rate is currently.
crazycath Posted June 10, 2009 Author Report Posted June 10, 2009 How does that compare? Is that the lowest they will take at this time?Cathy
AaronJB Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 You would likely be able to get a hotel for less using PRICELINE, but just wanted to note what HOTWIRE was offering. Given the $135-140+ prices on HOTWIRE, I'm *guessing* it will take $100-110 on PRICELINE for a 4*. However, given that you have nearly two months, I'd just progress $5 higher on your next bid and try and see if $90 is accepted. Please use the site's PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links.
crazycath Posted June 11, 2009 Author Report Posted June 11, 2009 So you think waiting till closer to the date I want the price will go down? BTW thanks for your help!Cathy
crazycath Posted June 11, 2009 Author Report Posted June 11, 2009 Ok tried all my rebids, last one was for $90 didn't get accepted.I think I will wait a little longer and try again in 2 weeksThanks for all your helpCathy
crazycath Posted June 16, 2009 Author Report Posted June 16, 2009 Got Pan Pacific $105. Started at 80 used my 5 rebids, won @ 105. I am happy, wanted this hotel since it is after our cruise. Used your PRICELINE link. Thanks for all your helpCathy
