dfwinjurylawyer Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 I worked my way up from $70 at $5 increments searching for 4 star hotels in Fanieul Hall, Theater Dist and Waterfront. At $95 all were rejected, but at $100, the Waterfront Renasissance accepted the bid. This was for 2 rooms, 2 nights, which I just returned from yesterday. This hotel is outstanding! It is just over a year old and looks like it. The lobby is modern, artistic and beautiful. The restaurant had a fantastic brunch for $20 that provided a great start to one long day of walking, etc. The staff was extremely polite and helpful. I asked for a waterfront view and was told that I'd been given a high floor with a view of downtown. Actually, the 18th floor view was terrific and looked at down town to the left and Boston Harbor to the right with views of sailboats and ships as they came into the harbor. The bed was very comfortable. The room had ample space. The bathroom was spacious and well lighted. The TV was about 32 inch LG LCD or plasma HDTV. In short, I loved this hotel and hope to win it on return trips. While this Waterfront district is a new creation and isn't in downtown, it is very close to a T stop that is about a 6 minute ride from the airport and going the other way, connects via the Silver line to all of the rest of Boston's excellent subway system. So, you can be anywhere quickly by subway and if the weather is great like it was for us, it is about a 10 minute walk to the south edge of downtown just over either bridge that crosses over the famous boston harbor. Let me also put in a plug for a local bakery about a 15 minute walk away called Flour that was fantastic. We all loved Boston and this hotel deal gave us extra spending money for the important things like beer, great food, beer, seafood, beer, a Sox game and beer!
