Recently returned from our trip to Duluth. The hotel was full when we checked in, due to a hockey tournament. Although I had requested a non-smoking room, we were assigned a smoking room and were told that all Hotwire and Priceline customers were assigned the smoking rooms. First time I have encountered this. The second day I asked housekeeping to strip the bed completely to get rid of the stale smoke odour. They also provided an ozone machine (which we didn't use). It made a big difference and the room was tolerable. They had assigned us a king suite - a king bed in a separate bedroom, with a double sofa-sleeper in the living area. Also a bar fridge, microwave and small sink. The room worked very well for us but we were glad that one person cancelled, so there were only 3 of us in the room. The suite was pool-side which was very noisy until 10:30 pm and then again at 8:00 am. This hotel could definitely use a renovation of rooms and public areas. But the bed was very comfortable. The downtown area was deserted over the weekend. The manager advised us not to wander off the main streets, for our personal safety. We decided to drive everywhere and had no problems. Overall, we were pleased with our Hotwire purchase and would stay here again (for the right price!)
