tenari Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 Hi I need help with a 3-star hotel in Central Waikiki Dates: 28th of July - 7th of AugustCost: $77 per night for 3 pplAmenities:*Near Beach *Smoke Free Rooms * Pool(s) * Restaurant(s) *High-speed Internet Access * Golf Nearby Trip Advisor Rating - 4 starsI'm hoping this is the AQUA Waikiki Wave, as it's matching the amenities but what is throwing me off is the tripadvisor reviews : Based on 520+ customer reviews (Last reviewed May 2009). As there have been recent reviews from June 2009.Thanks!
thereuare Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 The Tripadvisor information shown by HOTWIRE are not updated dynamically, it's just a snapshot at one point in time and stays 'static' until the next update (usually a month or so between). So the fact that there have been June reviews at Tripadvisor but not reflected in the HOTWIRE info is not an issue. What is noticable is that there are 520+ reviews shown by HOTWIRE but only 516 at the moment at TA, but we have seen this sometimes too as reviews at Tripadvisor are subject to being deleted by them (or using a different internal counting system than is shown publicly)With all of this taken into consideration, the amenities above do match those of the Aqua Waikiki Wave and that would be my best guess.Since this is an extended stay you could see if this property appears for the first (or last) nite and then again for the balance of your stay... if so you could purchase the solo nite in order to 'look behind the curtain'. If you're happy with the results go ahead and purchase the balance of your stay, if not (and it's a hotel you're not happy with, which i suspect it's a "good" one with a TA review of 4.0/5.0) then you can make alternate plans for the remainder of your trip. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help.
