Hotwire Hotel: 3* Las Vegas (North Strip) Riviera

Hi All,

I saw a few members post 5* Trump for 128$ per nite yesterday. But, I dont want to stay at Trump, can someone help me identify some strategy so I dont end up at Trump. I prefer to stay at Wynn/Venetian/Bellagio/Caesars (I guess not all 5*). Also, max I am willing is about 150$ per nite (hope this is not too less).

There is no way to target, or avoid, a particular hotel with PRICELINE... you need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you choose. If you're trying to target, or avoid, a particular hotel then HOTWIRE is a better option since you can often identify the property beforehand based upon the amenities shown... or identify what it's not (for example, since the Trump doesn't have a casino, you can 'safely' buy any HOTWIRE hotel that shows the casino icon... if you dont' know what it is, you do know that it won't be the Trump :) ).

Unforunately searching HOTWIRE for your date the only 5* non-Trump property is over your budget, priced at $191/nite.

Update: Now I am looking to stay for 2 nights starting 6/12 ...

Please help me identify these hotels, I have put them in my preferred order.

1) 4* South Strip w/ Amenities: Casino, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurants(s), Business Center, High Speed Internet Access, Golf nearby, (TENNIS, SPA) - located South of Harmon Street, TA rating 4 out of 5 based on 2540+ reviews - $159 /nite

2) 5 * Central Strip w/ Amenities: Casino, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Tennis Nearby, Golf Nearby, SPA

for 191 $/nite - I guess this is Wynn

3) 4* central strip w/ Casino, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High Speed Internet, SPA - 205$ per nite

4) 5* condo central strip - which i believe is Trump as it does not have Casino

5) 4.5* Central Strip - Casino, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High Speed Internet, Golf Nearby, Tennis nearby - 312 $ /nite (way over my budget, but just out of curiosity)

If you go back to HOTWIRE and click the CONTINUE button next to this offering and then click the "See all amenities" link under the icons, do you see more amenities than what you've listed above?

Thanks a lot for the help. The wealth of information here is unmatched and great job for maintaining this forum.

Because of uncertainty involved I just got the hotel room using Orbitz (yes, from your link in the Support page) as I was also getting other benefits like 50$ slot credit, Admission to LAVO, 25$ off 50$ at Dos Caminos restaurant and a few others. Btw, the 20$ trick worked well at Venetian, I didnt sandwich the money, just handed it to her in plain sight as a Tip when she was checking me in. She gave me a room with a better view, put me on guest list and also offered late checkout.

But, i did use the HOTWIRE link and get a 3 star hotel in Strip North for my half day which turned out to be Riviera. The amenities listed for this hotel were:

Casino, Fitness Center Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services

I will always use this board to make my future reservations.
