:) Hi everyone, I am new to the forum, but have watched other posters, so I thought I join and put in a few words. I used the HOTWIRE link on the forum to book my trip. Here is my recent booking booked tonight, for checking in on 09/27/09 and checking out on 10/01/09 for 4 nights. (By the way I am splitting my 7 day honeymoon for 4 nights in Poipu, and 3 nights in Princeville (hopefully at the Westin) to get a taste of both sides of the island). Ok, so this first reservation was for a 4.5 Star Hotel in Poipu with the following amenities:

Resort

Beachfront

Oceanfront

Fitness Center

Pool(s)

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

Laundry Facilities

High-speed Internet Access

Golf Nearby

Tennis Nearby

Spa Services

Children's Activity Program

The rate was $236 a night.

After booking the reservation I found out it was the Grand Hyatt in Poipu! I heard lots of good things about the hotel, I hope it goes well.

I hope the rate is good, I checked on Hyatt and the lowest I could find was $356, so hopefully this was good.

What do you guys think? Good deal for this hotel? Anyone stayed here before?

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Congratualtions on your success as well as your upcoming nuptuals :)

I've never stayed at this property but i have visited and walked around their grounds and the place is gorgeous. You certainly got a very nice deal, but do be aware that everything at the resort is very expensive (~3 years ago sandwiches were $12, anything for my kids would have been $8-$10, etc) and this just as the 'take-out' place... but you're on your honeymoon so don't worry about it and splurge a little :)

If you head towards the Marriott and go down the road a mile or so there is a public beach area and there was a pub/restaraunt near there which was upstairs and took the entire second floor of a building... food was 'decent', no great value, but a relaxing open air atmosphere which we enjoyed.

Thank you for sharing your results with the board and using our HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase.

Enjoy this leg of your stay... if you need help with the Princeville portion of your trip feel free to start a NEW TOPIC.

You got a good price on a great resort. Be sure to stop at Costco on your way to the hotel to get your beer and any other drinks you might need, each of the rooms have a fridge in them. Costco is right behind the mall on the left when you get to the highway. Beers at the pool are about $8-10 each. There is a good place to eat and have drinks not far from the hotel called Keoki's Paradise.
