eastcanguy Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 I have a hotwire saved search for a particular date in Downtown Toronto (East/West). Apparently when the price drops, they will send a message stating so. I got an email today saying 4* Toronto East had dropped $30.00 to $54.00..but when I enter Hotwire, that hotel is showing as $66.00, same as it has been for the past week. Has anyone else experienced this. Can anyone give a reason or solution. Thanks
thereuare Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 I don't think HOTWIRE knows that you were watching the 4* hotel in the Downtown East zone... so they inform you of price drops in any of the offerings in that general area for your dates. Please remember to come to the board and use our own PRICELINE and HOTWIRE link before making any purchases (especailly after receiving an email from PRICELINE or HOTWIRE)Thanks. eastcanguy Posted May 29, 2009 Author Report Posted May 29, 2009 The hotel they notified me about was a 4*, but none on the site matched the amount they stated.
thereuare Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 Perhaps it was in a 4* property in a different zone?It also could have been triggered when a rate was loaded incorrectly by the hotel, which was immediately caught by them and fixed.Another user had a similar experience which leads me to believe this feature either isn't ready for prime time, or if it is working correctly, is not very useful. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
