sheikyerbooty Posted May 29, 2009 Author Report Posted May 29, 2009 Going to Orlando for 2 days, spending one at The Magic Kingdom....the 21st. Really want the Hilton, as the extra hours program applies for that hotel and it's the magic kingdom for the day I am going, so I started at $55.00 and went up by $1.00 a bid till $63.00 all rejected. I'll keep trying for a day or 2, but may have to bite the bullet and go directly through the hotel (yes I know you have a Hilton link :) )
tigger1td Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 I am going at the same time! Will you please let me know if you have any luck? Thanks!!
sheikyerbooty Posted May 31, 2009 Author Report Posted May 31, 2009 Just tried again, same strategy, still no luck........I'll report back tomorrow!
sheikyerbooty Posted June 1, 2009 Author Report Posted June 1, 2009 same tactic ....same results......no luck. I did just notice the Hilton is advertising a prepay rate of $89.00 a night for 2 double beds, seems to be a no frills room, which is what you would end up getting with PRICELINE. I will book directly through Hilton (using the link here) tonight. It would seem with that rate, Hilton may be trying to muscle in on pricelines cheap prices. As I have never seen that rate at that hotel until today, and with them not accepting 60 plus $$ from priceline......seems like an odd coincidence.
thereuare Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 I don't think there's anything strange regarding the above as there is still a lot of space between your $60 failed bid and the $90 rate direct thru the Hilton website... but agree that if the Hilton is the hotel you really want, after including PRICELINE's fee, a direct purchase may be worth the $20 extra per nite ot make sure you get exactly what you want. Thanks for using our Hilton link and enjoy your stay. sheikyerbooty Posted February 26, 2010 Author Report Posted February 26, 2010 Ended up booking directly with the Hilton so we could take advantage of the extra hours. Paid $89.00 a night.
