vijskan Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 As Delta Chelsea Downtown is the only 3.5 star hotel in the area is it likely that I would get that hotel if I bid on a 3.5 star hotel downtown?
thereuare Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! No, if you bid the 3.5* level you could receive a different property...The star level you select is the minimum you're willing to accept, so your 3.5* bid could be upgraded to a 4* hotel. As well, the hotel list only contains hotels reported to the board, there could be others and you could be the first to report it to the board, or a hotel previously reported coudl be upgraded/downgraded and you could be the first to report it at the new star level. See the comments at the top of the Priceline Hotel List for additional info.If you're trying to target a specific property HOTWIRE may be a better option since you can often identify the property beforehand based upon the amenities shown to be associated with the property. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. tilepusher Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 The Delta Chelsea is not the only 3.5* hotel in Downtown Toronto. The Hyatt Regency, which has not yet been reported here, is also rated 3.5* by Priceline. The Delta's PRICELINE and HOTWIRE rates are often low enough that, through careful bidding, you can give yourself a high probability of getting this hotel; on the other hand, Priceline rates at several 4* hotels in the area are low enough that an upgrade is quite possible regardless of how you bid. You have to decide how much risk you're willing to take on.
