D-Rock Posted October 4, 2004 Report Posted October 4, 2004 Has anyone had a winning bid for the 2 1/2* hotel in South Springfield? I bid up to $43 with no luck.

D-Rock Posted October 5, 2004 Author Report Posted October 5, 2004 The dates will be for 11/19/2004 to 11/21/2004. I bid up to $43 for a 2 1/2 star hotel. I have never seen a 2 1/2* win in Springfield South.
thereuare Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Hotwire shows a 3* hotel in this zone for $50.There are two re-bid zones in this area when bidding 2.5* and i would bid up to at least $50 (unless you have a cheaper alternative... you didn't say whether or not you had a cancellable back-up or not).Select 2.5* and Springfiled South and...Bid $43, if rjected add re-bid zone1 and...Bid $45.If rejected close that browser and reacess priceline however you did previously.Select 2.5* and Springfild South and re-bid zone2 and...Bid $47, if rejected add re-bid zone1 and...Bid $49.Any questions feel free to ask.Let us know how it goes (of if you chose not to bid this high).Good Luck. D-Rock Posted October 7, 2004 Author Report Posted October 7, 2004 I took your advice and bid all the way up to $47 with no luck. (I would prefer to pay under $50)- I also bid for a 2* in South Springfield.........I bid $37 and it said that if I raised my bid $10 I could rebid. It would not let me split the difference. (Is this new?). I did not want to rebid $47 for a 2* since I have seen wins in this category in South Springfield for $40. Any suggestions on what to bid in 72 hours? Since I have until Mid-November time is not really a factor as of now.
thereuare Posted October 8, 2004 Report Posted October 8, 2004 You can't under-cut a counteroffer without using a re-bid zone. Pricelines offer to allow you to bid again immediately without changing anything is contingent upon you bidding the amount suggested. In 72 hours i would just split the difference and raise by $5, or if you are really in no hurry, raise by $3, then $6, then $9. D-Rock Posted October 11, 2004 Author Report Posted October 11, 2004 FYI - I just won the 2* Comfort Suites in South Springfield for $39/night. (2 nights) 11/19/04 to 11/21/04.Cheapest price on their website was $67.
thereuare Posted October 11, 2004 Report Posted October 11, 2004 Thank you for the report.... was this your first bid at the 2* level? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
D-Rock Posted October 11, 2004 Author Report Posted October 11, 2004 For the 2* level............I bid up from $35 over the past few weeks. However, I am really curious as to what it would take to get the 2 1/2* in South Springfield. There has not been any wins posted. Hopefully someone will let us know in the future!
