also, downtown silver spring is very up & coming. the AFI silver theater is really close for a really nice moviegoing experience. also, lots of restaurants nearby, and DC metro (train) access is 2 blocks away. it's a very nice area.

i heard parking is $10 at the hotel, but there are public garages all around downtown SS where you can park for cheap.
