frepetto Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 I found a 3 star hotel in buckhead and all it says in the amenities is Smoke Free Rooms, Pool and Fitness Center. Can anyone tell me what this hotel looks like? Thanks a lot!
thereuare Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 A property with the amenities above has not yet been reported to the board, HOWEVER...If you change your search to 2adults/2chidlren a 'new' 3* hotel appears in this zone for the same price with:Complimentary Breakfast, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, BusinessThis is a match for the Hyatt Place so that would be my best guess. Given the same price point as the property which was offered when searching 2adults/0children, I speculate that this may very well be the same property, but can't be certain, so if you're interested in this property it would be 'safer' to buy as 2adults/2children with the 'full' amenity listing. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. frepetto Posted May 27, 2009 Author Report Posted May 27, 2009 Thanks a lot. I would have never thought of doing that myself. Is there a difference making the reservation that way? Thanks again you are a great help!
thereuare Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 No difference other than that you're guaranteed quad occupancy vs. double occupancy (which may increase the likelihood of receiving two beds, but at a Hyatt Place 'quad occupancy' may mean one bed and a pullout sofabed... i'm not really sure of their room configurations) Regardless, you can ask at check-in for whatever type of room preference you have and hopefully the hotel will be able to accomodate your request. (or if you want one bed you can call ahead to find out your room type and you're assigned a room with two beds but you prefer one, you can state "that's why i'm calling, we just got word that a family member will be able to watch our kids and this will be the first time we're getting away along in 'x' years... would it be possible to change that to a room with a King bed"... or whatever type of 'story' applies to your sitaution)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes. frepetto Posted June 3, 2009 Author Report Posted June 3, 2009 Hey everyone... Just wanted to get your input on something... Does it make any difference in price if I wait until closer to my stay date? Or does it actually hurt me and prices go up as I get closer to the date? Please let me know! Thanks a lot!!!
thereuare Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. For the 'general' answer, see the related 'bid early or late' link in our PRICELINE FAQ.However, with HOTWIRE there is another dimension besides price... one risk is that the price goes up (while you wait) or down (if you purchase now), but the other risk is that the hotel you've "identified" disappears and is no longer offered. HOTWIRE only shows one hotel per star rating in each zone (the lowest priced property is the one offered), so if you believe you know the hotel offered and it the one you want, and it's a good price, then you should take it, as it may not be offered at any price if you continue to wait. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. frepetto Posted June 4, 2009 Author Report Posted June 4, 2009 Thanks a lot! I went ahead and booked using the HOTWIRE link. It was a 3 star hotel in Buckhead with complementary breakfast, high speed internet, fitness center, swimming pool and it was indeed the Hyatt Place as you had previously told me. The rate was $46 per night so a great deal considering it is for $80 a night on their website!!! Thanks again and I look forward to using BetterBidding more often!Franco
