Hi

Just looking for a 1 night stay on 15 Oct near JFK. Am seeing a 2* with only shuttle as ameneties, for $89. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

This property has not yet been identified, and with the majority of hotels, at all star levels, in this area being fairly lackluster to say the least, i think the extra $7 for the 3* property offered in this zone would be worth the upgrade... better chance for at least something acceptable (if not unremarkable)

The 3* is showing Shuttle, Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet and a Tripadvisor rating of 3.5/5.0 with 100+ reviews and best guess would be the Best Western JFK... figure the extra $7 is the included breakfast :)

Thanks thereuare, yes, I've read the less than thrilling reviews for hotels in the JFK area - its only somewhere to lay our heads after a late flight and we're moving on to manhattan the day after.

I was hoping this 2* may have been the Fairfield Inn as that gets good reviews. Not sure what to do really - the best western doesn't look too bad , but i can guarantee the fairfield inn for $149 on their site. Hmm decisions decisions. will have a think and let you know how I get on. Will use your HOTWIRE link if I decide to go ahead.

Please follow-up this thread with whatever you end up doing for this stay, even if it's not PRICELINE or HOTWIRE.

Do note that for the most part the hotels in this area are not very good and i would consider just heading straight to Manhattan upon your arrival... you get a 'fresh' start the next morning already being in the city and don't need to start packing up your toiletries and any other items you unpacked and first start heading into the city.

Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. (or our support page links if you decide to book something direct, given the general low quality of most of the JFK Airport Hotels)

thanks, yes I will follow up whatever happens then .

I understand your point, but we made the decision to stay at a grotty hotel the first night and a fantastic hotel the second night, rather than a decentish hotel for 2 nights. I know it sounds weird but we really really want to stay at the Plaza and no way could we justify spending 2 nights there (our suite is costing more than $1000 for 1 night!!) , especially when the first night we probably wouldn't get there till about 1.30 am.

This is the final 2 nights in a trip of almost 4 weeks so not too worried about having to keep packing things up as we'll have been doing it for weeks! 2 nights in new York isn'tlong but it breaks up the long journey home .
