UKMasters Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 Hello,First time poster, so I hope I'm doing this right...Grateful for your help identifying this hotel on HOTWIRE:5-star hotel in Central StripThis hotel features the following amenities:Casino Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Spa ServicesCheck-in date: Sun, May 31 Check-out date: Mon, Jun 1 $119 per nightA couple of other questions if you have any info...1) What is the easiest way to check the resort fees (do 5-star hotels charge these)?2) Are the room types on Hotwire a lower standard than rooms booked through the hotel's website? Thanks for your help.
thereuare Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! The amenities above match previous reports for the Venetian so that would be our best guess (although i'd also leave the door slightly 'open' for this being the Palazzo or the Wynn... but most likely the Venetian)Hotels are supposed to treat PRICELINE / HOTWIRE guests the same as any other, but unforunately some hotels (or their staff) may discriminate and give the 'lesser' rooms to those who purchased thru opaque channels. Fortunately such treatment is in the minority and i woudln't expect any such treatment at the 5* hotels which i believe are possible for those above.I don't believe there is a resort fee at any of the above guessed properties, but you can always check each of their websites to doublecheck. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. UKMasters Posted May 24, 2009 Author Report Posted May 24, 2009 Thank you for your speedy response.I used your HOTWIRE links to begin the booking process. It turned out to be the Palazzo. Is this basically the same as the Venetian? The rooms appear to be of a similar quality and it gets good reviews on Trip Advisor. Is there anything else you're aware of that it would be useful to know before I go?
thereuare Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 Congratulations on your success! The Palazzo is the new wing of the Venetian but is run as it's own hotel (although i suspect some of the back-of-house operations are shared). The rooms, large suites, are identical to the Venetian and i've noticed no difference between the two (other than the Palazzo rooms being a bit newer). The hotel is very nice and i'm sure you'll enjoy your stay.Thank you for sharing your results with the board and using our HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase.Have a great trip... and enjoy your stay in Vegas.
