thereuare Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 The 3* property has not yet been identified but i think the Thirty Thirty is a very good possibility and that would be my best guess. The 2* is Central Park Area is not something i would recommend, as 2* is a 'risky' rating in NYC and this is not the most convenient location for the typical visitor, if you let me know if you need to be in this area for some particular reason (which i doubt given the location of the other hotel you inquired about) or why it would work well for your needs i'll look further, but it will take some time to ID and i don't think is a realistic option. What is it that you're looking for from this stay and your maximum budget? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. fgamb Posted May 24, 2009 Author Report Posted May 24, 2009 Thanks for reply,Thirty thirty sounds ok but could you please identify3 1/2* Midtown Central08/31 - 09/05$119 per nightSmoke FreeFitnessRestaurantBusinessHigh Speed InternetTrip Advisor 3/5Would this be the Sheraton ManhattanIf so would this be a better option than thirty thirty with only $7 difference in price
thereuare Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 Yes, the 3.5* would be a match for the Sheraton Manhattan and that would be my best guess too. Both hotels are very different.. Thirty Thirty may not be what you expect in terms of a 'traditional' hotel. There's really no lobby to speak of and you sort of feel like you're walking into a long hallway of an office buiding than a hotel lobby whereas the Sheraton Manhattan is a large hotel with a traditional lobby and probably offers a bit more of 'full service' hotel experience. Neither would be my first choice in Manhattan, but of the two i'd probably go with the Sheraton as the recent reviews have been on the upswing, it has a more central location, and i usually prefer name brands (such as the Sheraton) where there is a corporate structure in place to take care of any issues that arise (and although it usually take a lot for me to complain, and i seldom do, when necessary i'm usually pretty good about working my way up the corporate hierarchy to get a resolution to whatever issue i'm having)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. fgamb Posted May 25, 2009 Author Report Posted May 25, 2009 :) Just booked, it is the Sheraton Manhattan, I am happy with purchase,I have never been to USA and think the location is good. Have used the HOTWIRE link for all purchases.Only one more hotel to go! Niagara Falls ,think we might wait closer to time to book.
