rolaine Posted May 21, 2009 Report Posted May 21, 2009 I'm new at this. Learned from this site that I need to go HOTWIRE since we are a family of 4. Looking at Streeterville or Loop in Chicago listings for June 1 - June 3. Having a breakfast included and how much parking will be is important to know as I compare prices. These are the prices Hotwire gave me.Who could this one be?$114 3* in Chicago Loop areabreakfastfitness centerpool business centerlaundryinternet$84 4* in Streetervillefitness centerrestaurantbusiness centerinternetSpaI figure this is the Hyatt. Their charge for parking is $48 per night according to their website.Any ideas on this one?$76 3* in Streetervillefitness centerpoolrestaurantbusiness centerinternetYes, I'll use your HOTWIRE link to book. Thanks for the help.
AaronJB Posted May 21, 2009 Report Posted May 21, 2009 Welcome to the site.Parking is going to be expensive at any hotel in downtown Chicago, unfortunately. The 3* Loop is likely the La Quinta; while that does offer breakfast, that is in a rather out-of-the-way location. The 4* Mag Mile is likely the Hyatt. The 3* Mag Mile would appear to be a match for the Hilton Garden Inn. The 4/5 tripadvisor rating on the HOTWIRE detail page also matches the HGI. If this is the HGI (and, while not guaranteed, I think it is) that would be both a nice hotel and good location. Please use the site's HOTWIRE link to start your purchase, and please feel free to ask if you have any hotel or Chicago questions.
rolaine Posted May 21, 2009 Author Report Posted May 21, 2009 Thanks for the help. You were right - the 3 * was the Hilton Garden Inn and I'm thrilled with that as I checked out their website first. Can't beat the price. Your site gave me the confidence to give it a try.
AaronJB Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Congratulations on your success and thank you for sharing your results with the board.Glad you're happy with the results. Keep in mind that this property is in the River North area, which has a wide variety of restaurants and is an easy walk to Michigan Ave. The nearest subway (Grand/State) is right outside the hotel and there is a Jewel grocery store (cheap snacks) across the street. I would definitely recommend heading up to the Lincoln Park zoo, as that would be a great (and free) activity. If you have any questions or need directions, please ask. Additionally, this hotel has valet parking ($44), but it also has much cheaper ($29) self parking. The rooms also have a fridge and microwave. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay.
