Hotwire Hotel: 3* Miami (Bay Harbor Islands-North Bay Village) Best Western Marina

Hallo,

i try to book a Hotel on Central South Beach Miami for January 2010. In Tripadvisor i can input as location " Miami, FL" and i will get only 2 search results when i filter to "South Beach". If i inout Miami Beach, FL i get over 50 Hotels. What is the difference between this two locations "Miami" and "Miami Beach" ?

If i use only Miami, FL in Tripadvisor i find three hotels. When i use "Miami Beach, FL" as a search criteria i find more than 50 Hotels.

Miami Beach is a sub-set of the larger Miami area, but unforunately not all hotels are classified using this 'refined' zone. A good example is in Orlando near Disneyworld... many hotels are classified under "Orlando" which is what most people think of when they think of Disneyworld, but there are smaller towns, such as Celebration and Kissimmee, which are actually closer to Disneyworld, so if a hotel is located in Kissimmee or Celebration, you can't be certain if it would listed in their actually town or as part of the larger "Orlando" listings.

However, the hotel above is a match for the Chesterfield Hotel so that would be our best guess. With a 2.5/5.0 Tripadvisor rating not sure if it's something you want to consider or not.

thanks for your reply. Searching on Tripadvisor i cannot find Chesterfield Hotel on 3*, 2,5/5 Rating in Miami or Miami Beach. What have i done wrong ?

You can't assume that HOTWIRE and Tripadvisor will rate a hotel with the same rating... it appears that Tripadvisor doesn't even give this property a star rating, which could explain why it didn't appear on your search if you set a minimum threshold of 3 stars:

Is this the Best Western at 1819 79th Street Causeway? As this hotel is the (Bay Harbor Island-North Bay Vilage) zone and not the Miami North Beach zone... can you please confirm the correct address and zone.
