projectworkout Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 I was going to bid (with your PRICELINE link) in the sorrento mesa & san diego areas. My vacation is for 7 nights. I have never used priceline & do not want to get stuck with a bad hotel for that long. If my bid gets accepted & I like the hotel, can I add on additional days? Or do I have to go bid again for the other days? TIA
thereuare Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Sometimes PRICELINE will offer you the option to add additional nites to your stay, but this option is not always offered, and when it is, there is no guarantee that you'll be successful at the same price. PRICELINE may come back and tell you that there is no availability or that there is only availability at a higher price (at which point you'll be given the option to accept or reject their offer)Also, as part of the add a nite feature, you can only extend the stay for up to the same number of nites that you have booked... so you can't bid on one nite, see the hotel, then try to extend for 6 nites. If you book for 2 nites you can try to extend for 1 or 2 nites, book for 3 nites you can try to extend for between 1-3 nites, etc, etc.If PRICELINE has you a bit too nervous you may want to consider HOTWIRE where you can take an educated guess as to the property you may receive; as well, some of their offerings show the Tripadvisor rating, so even if you guess wrong, you can buy something with a 'good' tripadvisor rating and know that others have enjoyed their stays.Let us know how you'd like to proceed, your maximum buget per nite, and dates of your stay and we'll try to assist. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. projectworkout Posted May 22, 2009 Author Report Posted May 22, 2009 Thanks! I found that out. I did the first 3 nights b/c I didnt want to do all 7 at once, just in case. I got the woodfin for $61. Not the best b/c there are 3 of us, so I am hoping to get the upgrade for $20 more. I saw another post where the Woodfin was not going to have any with priceline, but I guess that is not true. I was hoping for country inn or the like in sorrento mesa. I was offered to add more days there, but do not want to.I will never use hotwire again. About 2 years ago I was going on a day trip and selected 1 night at a 3* for $55 + fees. Turned out to be a motel 8 or some crap. Worst hotel I ever stayed in. ANd I could have gotten the room $10 cheaper had I gone to the site directly. The room was 49.99 + taxes. With Hotwire fees I paid more! Good thing it was only 1 night. Now I have 4 more nights in the San Diego area & not sure what to do. I would like at least a small fridge and 2 queen beds. Country Inn in Sorrento matches as well as Humphreys in Point Loma. Any suggestions? The last 4 nights are 8/9-8/13
