Trav627 Posted May 16, 2009 Author Report Posted May 16, 2009 Thanks for your assistance. I am a frequent visitor and prefer this location for a couple of reasons. The dates I am looking for at this point at June 8-10 and the prices are $159 for the 3* and 179 for the 3.5*.
AaronJB Posted May 16, 2009 Report Posted May 16, 2009 The 3* is likely the Franklin. The 3.5* is more difficult; I'm guessing it's On the Ave, downgraded from 4*.The On the Ave is $179.20 on sale on Orbitz, and you can get 10% off each night by using the coupon code deal0hotel = $161.28Please use the site's Orbitz.com or HOTWIRE links to start your purchase.
AaronJB Posted May 16, 2009 Report Posted May 16, 2009 One other suggestion would be the Salisbury, which isn't far at all from Central Park (it would be in what I would classify as "Upper Midtown") That's $111 on Expedia.com and you can get $10 off using coupon code 10MAY.That hotel gets very good reviews. It's an older and somewhat basic property, but it gets great reviews and is in a very good location. Please use the site's Expedia.com link if this is of interest.Additionally, large 1BR suites at the Salisbury are $153.30 on Expedia.com for these dates (and you can use the 10MAY coupon code.)
thereuare Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 I don't believe the 3.5* is On the Ave since on my HOTWIRE search it's showing the HOTWIRE property offered has a 3.5/5.0 with 460+ reviews... while on the Ave is rated higher than 3.5 and has more reviews. If i were take a shot i'd say the Bentley would be my best guess. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. AaronJB Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 I didn't see the tripadvisor rating when I looked yesterday, but I do see it today and agree that the Bentley would be a good possibility. However - if this was the Bentley it would be eligible for a "Double the Difference" guarantee from HOTWIRE, since it's $159.20 on Orbitz.com.
Trav627 Posted May 19, 2009 Author Report Posted May 19, 2009 Thanks for your help. I have not finalized my plans but will be sure to book through this site's PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links when I do.
Trav627 Posted May 19, 2009 Author Report Posted May 19, 2009 Seems like a pretty good deal for this time of year. Expedia rate is $329 and Hotwire, if this is the correct hotel, is $185.
AaronJB Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Congratulations on your success!Hopefully you are pleased with the deal - looks like a terrific discount for this property, especially considering the sky-high regular rate.Thank you for sharing your results with the board and it would be greatly appreciated if you could use the site's PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to start future purchases.Enjoy your stay.
