golfman333 Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Hi there this is my first post but I have to say this site is awesome. It truly helps in so many ways. I recently was having trouble finding a hotel for NYC for June 18-22 which is the US Open week at Bethpage Golf Course in Farmingdale. I tried a bunch of ways that were unsuccessful until I found this site and it gave me a great spot. My brother lives in Manhattan and said if I could get a hotel for my friend and I by Penn Station because the LIRR runs from Penn Station right to the Farmingdale Station. I saw that $97 won bids for Friday and Saturday, but did not see any winning bids for Monday so I bid $101 just be safe. Within 20 seconds it was accepted for $101 a night (4 nights). This was a great price especially for the location because we can just jump right on the train and within an hour be at the course and enjoy the Major. The total came out to $488 for all taxes and everything. That really is great because that week is going to be crazy with the Open going on. The LIRR already announced they are putting "several" more trains en route to Bethpage. So I was very excited for this price and location. Thanks for all of your help everyone and this site ROCKS! I cant wait to use it in the future and it saved me some cash! :) So if you are going to the Open, this is a great spot. I lived in NYC and know the area and this is perfect for the Open commute. Thanks again!
AaronJB Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Congratulations on your success and welcome to the site! Glad you are finding the site helpful! :) This is certainly a terrific win, in terms of price and the fact it offers larger-than-average (for NYC) rooms. Plus, it gets excellent reviews and glad it works out so well for you from a location standpoint.Thank you for sharing your results with the board and please use the site's PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to start your future purchases.Enjoy your stay. :)
