Priceline Hotel: Is it too early to bid for August 5-8, 2009?

Looking for a 3* or better is the following zones:

Convention Ctr - Capitol Hill area

Dupont Circle - Woodley Park

Georgetown - Foggy Bottom

White House - Downtown

I have a refundable reservation at the 4* Mayflower Hotel for 99 nt. I have bid up to 65 for a 3* and up to 75 for a 4*. Should I increase by bids now or wait until I get closer to the dates needed? Thanks for your help.

What are your thougths on your back-up property... is it a place you'd really want to stay? (i'm not implying anything negative regarding this property, just asking your thougths on your back-up)

You mention bidding for a 3* property up to $65... have you tried any 3.5* bids?
