Priceline Hotel: 3* Bakersfield Four Points

Started bidding at $40 - 2.5* - received counteroffer of $52. Went through re-bidding adding 3* and waiting a 24-hour period to retry the whole thing: $44, $47 - got accept of $50.

Hopefully Four Points is better than what is suggested at TripAdvisor reviews.

Congratulations on your win!

If you look at the reviews again many of them are nearly a year old... the majority of the most recent ones (last 6 months) are actually decent, and with your stay another 6 months away, a lot can change (improve?) in that timeframe. As well, management is responding to comments, which for me, is a good sign that they care and are will try to do whatever they can to 'make things right' during a stay.
