dgest Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 We are coming back from Scandinavia at 6:30 pm on the 26th of June and have until our 5:22 pm flite on the 27th to show our 17 year old daughter around Boston. We are thinking what makes sense is to stay by the airport, leave our stuff there, take the train to the sites in the morning of the 27th and then come back to hotel and pick up bags and get back to the airport. Not a lot of time, but perhaps an intro to the city for her. Hoping for 3.5 to 4 for $100 or less but not sure if that is possible. Looked at Embassy Suites because of there being 3 of us and it seems close to the train. All suggestions muchly appreciated.
thereuare Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! It sounds like you'll be at least triple occupancy, is this the case? If so, note that PRICELINE only guarnatees double occcupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel... you can request a room with two beds, but based upon occupancy, the hotel may be unable, or unwilling, to give you a room with two beds. Would this be an acceptable situation? If not, HOTWIRE is usually a litlte more expensive than PRICELINE, but allows you to search for up to quad occupancy.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. dgest Posted May 18, 2009 Author Report Posted May 18, 2009 yes we would be triple occupancy and we are fine with HOTWIRE and have previously experienced the troubles with PRICELINE not really covering our situation needing 2 beds. Thanks very much for your advice
thereuare Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 So if you search HOTWIRE for your dates, and triple occupancy (since different prices and offerings are often shown vs. double occupancy) are there any hotels that meet your budget, minimum star rating, and zone preferences? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. dgest Posted May 19, 2009 Author Report Posted May 19, 2009 So if you search HOTWIRE for your dates, and triple occupancy (since different prices and offerings are often shown vs. double occupancy) are there any hotels that meet your budget, minimum star rating, and zone preferences? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. If I am doing it correctly about the triple occupancy (just entered 2 adults and 1 child with 1 room on the selector) and logan area and 4 star it only comes back with one listed in Saugus at $135 and it lists its 4 rating hotels as "intercontinental, hyatt, omni"After checking Expedia those look fine but so do the Embassy Suites at the airport, Hilton Boston that is attached to the airport and the Hyatt Harborside. Not sure I am telling you what you need. Thanks for your patience
thereuare Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Next to the 4* HOTWIRE offering click the CONTINUE button, then on the next page click the "See all amenities" link just above where you see the 'intercontinental, hyatt, omn'... what are the amenities that appear in the pop-up window? What are the prices of the hilton, embassy suite, and hyatt that you're refering to? (be sure you're looking at 2aduts/1child so you're comparing apples-to-apples vs. the HOTWIRE rate)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
