first I tried several times for 6/1-6/3, I even go as high as 70, and decreased to 2.5*, and added downtown area, simply didn't work. then I noticed all the bidding record for 3.5* DC (Convention Center-Capital Hill) Marriott Metro Center with $60 were made for weekend. So, I switched my stay to weekend, and it worked.

I'm wondering whether this is a rule? I normally will consider weekday is cheaper than weekend as I booked the hotel for Las Vegas, the weekday is cheaper.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Congratulations on your success and thank you for sharing your results with the board.

There is no "across the board" rule for whether weekends or weekdays are usually cheaper... generally speaking Las Vegas is cheaper midweek, although there are certainly exceptions to this based upon conention activiity. Washington DC is a toss up as there are often rallys, convenions, government meetings, etc, etc taking place which have a strong impact on hotel pricing. Just like anything else with a price, it comes down to supply vs. demand.

just find out on marriott website that the price for weekend nights is cheaper than weekday, since there is 20% off weekend rate.
