I've already booked several times with Hotwire (using this forum's link :)) and so far I've always received the hotel I was hoping for. This time I was tricked by the impression that there was only one 3* hotel possible in South Mall and the fact that the Tripadvisor rating was matching (tripadvisor: 243 reviews, 3.5 / hotwire: 240 reviews, 3.5). In fact, the real Tripadvisor rating for the L'Enfant Plaza differs quite a bit from Hotwire's cited rating (253 reviews, 3.0). Obviously they received some bad reviews since April...But still, I'm fine with the L'Enfant Plaza. Actually, I'm attending a workshop in Washington and the L'Enfant Plaza has been suggested by the organizers. I was just preferring the Holiday Inn as it seemed to be cheaper and has free wifi which the L'Enfant Plaza has not...Anyway, this is a great forum and it already saved me hundreds of dollars. So it was time to pay something back :) !
