We are a family of 4 including 2 small children planning to go to Disney World on May 23, I bid on a 4 star Hotel on Priceline, anticipating that the hotel I'm going to get is a family friendly hotel since it will be in the Disney World vicinity, unfortunately, I got a romantic hotel instead, I won the Celebration Hotel in Kissimee FL. I'm so disappointed because I know my kids are really noisy especially when they are excited about going to the Disneyworld Parks and the Celebration hotel guests will not like it. And I will not as well like the idea that people will look at us just because we are not in the appropriate hotel. I just thought that Priceline should not include the hotels like this in the Disneyworld vicinity area/category.

:) Won 4 star Hotel $80 May 22-23 Disney World Vicinity Area

Celebration Hotel

We are a family of 4 including 2 small children planning to go to Disney World on May 22, I placed a bid on a 4 star Hotel on Priceline, anticipating that the hotel I'm going to get is a family friendly hotel since it will be in the Disney World vicinity, unfortunately, I won the Celebration Hotel in Kissimme, FL, I read a review about it, I'm sure the hotel is good but it is not just appropriate for a family with small children. I just thought the Priceline should not include the Celebration Hotel in the category (Disney World Vicinity) as we all know that most of the travellers that choose to stay in the vicinity are families with children. I'm quite disappointed that after calling the Priceline customer service, they were not helpful. I'm force to take the hotel given to me. Also I would like to know if you consider the Celebration Hotel in Kissimmee, FL with the zip code 34747 within the vicinity of Disney World with the address of 3111 World Dr.,Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Sorry to hear you're disappointed with your purchase, but when you make an opaque purchase you agree to any hotel in the zone at the minimum star rating you select. As long as this property is worthy of its 4* rating (which it appears to be based upon the reviews), and it's within the shaded boundaries of the zone (which it is), then it's perfectly acceptable for them to include this property in their offerings, imo.

If you're not willing to accept any hotel in the zone, then perhaps an opaque purchase wan't the right option for this stay, or at least have used HOTWIRE where you could have taken an educated guess as to the property you would have received. If you choose to use PRICELINE again in the future, also note that they only guarantee double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel, so it's also not a safe assumption that you'll be able to get a room with two beds.

Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.

Hope your stay goes better than you expect.

I just registered on this site so I could reply to your post about The Celebration Hotel. I also won this hotel for our family trip to Orlando in April. Like you, I was worried about staying here since our children are only 7, 5 and 2 years old! I didn't think we would like this hotel at all as the reviews made it sound like it would be very child unfriendly. Let me tell you how GREAT this hotel was, we all loved it. Not only is it a beautiful hotel, very clean & well kept but also the location is great too. There are lots of restaurants within a short walking distance from the hotel, we had pancakes one morning at a nearby restaurant and it was fabulous. There is also a small cinema, sweet shop, Starbucks, etc too. You can also rent paddle boats and paddle boat on the lake that the hotel overlooks. We actually took a walk around the huge lake with the kids one morning, there are some lovely nature trails around and even a kids park. On our last evening we ate out at one of the restaurants and it was so nice to be able to walk back to the hotel. The kids were so tired from the day's activities they pretty much zonked out when their heads hit the pillows. I would definately return back to this hotel for the $81 a night I paid on Priceline. Ask my kids and they would agree, they loved it too. We didn't feel that we had to be really really quiet, which having 3 kids I am always paranoid about any sound they make. Hope you and your family enjoy your stay here and hope my review has helped reassure you that I think you will love the hotel and all it's surrounding shops, restaurants, walks and other entertainment.
