chucklingstarfish Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 Hi thereFirst time using this site (and HOTWIRE) but it appears to be exactly the help I'm desperately looking for! Hopefully I give enough info...I'm looking at two hotels and am not sure which one would be better. Both are in areas I'm looking to stay and are within my budget. So as mentioned before my stay details are:BostonIn: 17 JulyOut: 21 JulyHotwire hotels as follows:3.5-star hotel in Back Bay - Copley Square $89 per nightAmenities: Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access, 3.5-star hotel in Boston Common - Theatre District $89 per nightAmenities: Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access, Tennis Nearby Also can you advise me what the additional taxes are likely to be/room total for 4 nights (I'm still new to the whopping taxes applied to US hotels and how they differ state to state!)Thank you so much for your help - very grateful.M
thereuare Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! The 3.5* Copley Square hotel is a match for the Sheraton while the 3.5* Boston Common property is a match for the Radisson so that would be our best guess for each. When you click the CONTINUE button next to each offering you'll see the total amount, including a line for taxes and fees, which will be the total amount you pay to HOTWIRE. Some hotels have 'resort fees' but that's not really common in large 'downtown' cities and i wouldn't expect any such fees in Boston. Some cities also have an energy tax or occupancy tax, but this usually covered in the HOTWIRE rate and if not is typically only $1-$2/day so nothing that should "make our break" your decision. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. chucklingstarfish Posted May 31, 2009 Author Report Posted May 31, 2009 Hello againAm SO annoyed at myself - I should have jumped when that offer was up but still haven't booked my hotel as I was waiting for the AUD to improve which it has slowly done but the price has gone up... :) Have also just come to the sad realisation that Priceline doesn't accept Credit Cards with billing addresses outside of the US! I was hoping to try my luck with name your own price... :) So back to the Hotwire drawing board as it seems to be my best bet now... same dates as before:3.5-star hotel in Back Bay - Copley Square $92This hotel features the following amenities:Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access Appreciate your help again - thank you :o
