Hi,

I am new here and also have never bid on priceline or hotwire.

Just been reading some posts and must say that your site really looks great. Also I took a look at backupbooking.com, which really looks great too.

What I am looking for is a nice hotel, maybe all incl. (min. 3 star) in Curacao from May 18th to May 28th.

Do you know what hotels are sold there from either Hotwire or Priceline?

Would it be better if I made a search on Hotwire and then wrote the hotel stars, price and amenties?

Thanks in advance! :)

Welcome to Betterbidding! (and thanks for the compliments on the site :) )

PRICELINE doesn't offer bidding on all-inclusive properties, so if you are looking for an all-inclusive it would have to be done thru HOTWIRE.

I'd start there and see if any hotels are offered within your budget and desired star level and we'll take it from there.

OK. There is a 4 star Hotel in Curacao for 148$ per room per night on hotwire.

It has the following amenities:

Resort, Beachfront, Casino, Smoke Free rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center

Can you help me identify the hotel?

Also, I'd like some advice on booking with Priceline.

My minimum star level would be 3.5, do you have any idea which hotels are possible in Curacao via Priceline?

Both with 3.5 and 4 stars? What should I bid?

For the HOTWIRE hotel above...

If you go back to HOTWIRE and click the CONTINUE button next to this offering and then click the "See all amenities" link under the icons, do you see more amenities than what you've listed above?

The only property reported thus far in Curacao thru PRICELINE is the Marriott and that was a Resort class hotel. While the "name your price" and "retail" sections of priceline use a differenet inventory of hotels, you can get a feel for what else may be available by enter "Curacao" into the search box at HERE.

ah.. ok.

Yes, it actually also says:

High-speed Internet Access, Spa Services, Children's Activity Program.

If I decide to try to go for Marriot under Resorts under Priceline, do you know what would be a good bid to get it?

I would guess starting at around $95 to $97 based on the $148 Hotwire. You could always break up your bid and just try some of the nights and then re-bid or add the rest if you are satisfied with the hotel.

good luck.

Hi, and thanks for your reply and the "strategy".

The 148$ on hotwire is for a 4 star hotel, but on Priceline I would go for a resort. But maybe around 100$ is still a good starting bid for a resort?

Does anyone know what the hotel I have described on hotwire could be?

Hotwire has a different system, with the Resort Icon appearing for this 4 star hotel. The non-smoking Icon led me to beleive it is the same Marriott.

While the marriott is the only reported resort here on Curacao there is never a guarantee with priceline and I have been getting many new hotels when booking this year.

I think with your number of nights and the current market situation and using some relationships from website rates you would probably win a resort with priceline just under $100, as said .. around $96.

just recalled that when I was in Curacao the last time they were building the new Renaissance as well and that would be an option I guess as well. I do not think the Hilton is fully non-smoking, but do not know.

I have stayed at both the Marriott and Hilton and liked them both for the most part... but I even liked the Kura Halunda that got some horrible reviews as a 5 star.

just tried my first bid on priceline with 98$ per night (+taxes) from May 18-20 - that was accepted...! Got the Marriott - So that was great!

Guess I will try bidding for the remaining period for just a little less ;-)

After having searched the web I also have a feeling that there is only 2 resorts in the category.... Marriott and Hilton... Many thanks for your help!
