Yello jello Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 Used the PRICELINE link.I'm so upset, and even though I know Priceline's policy, I think this is a rip-off.Anyways, bid $61, $65, $71, $75, and $81 for San Jose.I got the Doubletree at $81. Savings of $8 !?!?!?Doubletree Hotel San Jose2050 Gateway PlaceSan Jose, CA 95110408-453-4000 Last time, I got Marriot for $75. Direct on the website, Doubletree is $89 and Marriot is $150. Either they should change Doubletree back to 3 1/2 star, or change the Marriot to 5 star. Arggggg!Doubletree is near the airport outside of downtown, Marriot is in the heart of downtown.
thereuare Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 Sorry to hear you're dissappointed in the results, but a good reminder for everyone to check rates of the 'known' hotels before you bid.... it's not really PRICELINE's fault that you chose to bid $81, and it's actually the hotel who sets the minimum rate. The Doubletree may have "good" occupancy levels for these dates but decided to offer the opaque suppliers a 10% discount (ie- $81/nite) in order to lock-in some non-refundable business.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICLINE link to begin your bidding.Hope you enjoye your stay.
