cherryblossomgirl Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 I started bidding yesterday and was rejected all the way up to $100. (I started around $75.) $100 is basically my absolute limit, and I really can't be anywhere but the Loop... any suggestions/ideas?I know it's Lollapalooza weekend... that's why I need the hotel actually. There is a deal at a hotel in the North Michigan Avenue area but when all is said and done that ends up being about half an hour from the festival. This is for my senior trip and my mom doesn't want me outside the Loop. Buses are fine in the morning but she doesn't want us taking them at, like, midnight, I guess.
AaronJB Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 Are you 21+ years of age or are you going to be with someone who is? I ask because most hotels in the downtown area have a checkin policy of 21 and older. The Loop is the closest to the concert, and, not surprisingly, that's the first area that gets booked up during this time period. I'm not seeing anything under $100 in this area. What have you bid on in the Loop in terms of star level? The Michigan Ave. area is not much further away (maybe half an hour by foot from some of the hotels further North on Michigan Ave, but it's a very nice walk and some of the hotels closer to the river would not be 30 minutes by walking), and there's definitely more going on in that area at night than in the Loop, which is very quiet at night. Personally, I'd much rather recommend staying in the Michigan Ave. area. It's a very reasonable cab ride back to Michigan Ave. hotels from the Loop - maybe $7-8 bucks, tops. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase and let us know if you have any questions.
