chrispet
I am staying in Vancouver from Sept 17-22, 2009 there will be two adults and one child under 2 years old. I would prefer to stay in Downtown 3.5-4*. I am not having any luck with bidding, I have read many posts on the ideal time to bid and re-bidding etc. I keep bidding higher and higher and have yet to come close. Is September too far out, as I only see wins on this board to the end of June. Thanks for any help, it is much appreciated. Link to comment

chrispet
I've bid to $85 so far and no counter offer yet on 3.5 and 4* (using rebidding), looking at other rates, I thought maybe I would have gotten a counter offer by now. Link to comment
thereuare
You don't always receive counter-offers, they're somewhat random... you coudl be $25 away and receive a counteroffer, yet you can be $1 away and not receive one.I'm not sure what you're basking your maximum bid amount off of, but using the QUICK SEARCH box in the blue banner at the top of the page and searching for "Vancouver Downtown" it apepars most of the recent wins are between $90-$125. Your bids have not reached this level yet so you're, so your rejections are not all that surprising. How high are you willing to bid for a 4* property? What is the best rate you're able to find thru traditional booking channels? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. chrispet
Well I finally got a counter offer, they wanted $107 for a 4*, so I kept inching up, but ran out of re-bids at $90.I then decided to look on VRBO for a condo, and am booking one for $95/night on Robson. Link to comment
