bevans
Subject should be 10/20-26 (October, not November)Hello everyone.... I am trying to get a deal like the $50 Hyatt which I saw on this board, but no luck... can anyone give any suggestions... Here is what I have tried.Revere-Logan $60 REJECTED+ Zone 1 $70 REJECTEDRevere - Logan + Zone 2 $80 REJECTED+ Zone 1 $85 REJECTED..... Adding various zones to reach $100/night... 4* All REJECTED. Am I just being too cheap? I have checked the convention schedule, and there is a sports dinner on Friday night with 800 attendees, but that is the night which someone got a $50 room at the Hyatt, so Idon't think that is a factor.Suggestion? Thanks,Bryan Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding!Comparing your dates to the $50 HYATT HARBORSIDE win, rates for your dates are higher on the nite of 10/20 and 10/21, and lower for the nites of 10/24-10/26.Unfortunately Priceline does not average the price of your stay, but rather, your bid must be enough to 'win' each nite of the stay. The only way around this is to be willing to overpay for the less expensive nites, or SPLIT THE BID, which involvles the likely scenario that you will have to change hotels during your stay.If you're willing to split the bid, i would follow the same strategy you used above, starting at $50 and raising $5 per re-bid opportunity.... but only bidding for 10/22-10/26.If you're not willing to split the bid post back and we'll try to advise further or if you try the above and fail let us know that as well. If you succeed, we'll then work on the remaining two nites.Good Luck, and if there are any questions feel free to ask. Roginator
The sticky point here may be Saturday the 23rd of October.I had no trouble getting the $50 rate at the Hyatt Harborside for the 17th (a Sunday night), and I believe I saw where someone got it on the 21st. But try as I might, the prices for Saturday the 23rd are astronomical. Worse than Vegas.I may have to stay in Tewksbury on the night of the 23rd and then zip down the freeww...er turnpikes to the airport very early on the 24th. There are quite a few hotels there at reasonable prices if you don't mind a 40-minute, fairly direct drive. Link to comment
thereuare
When i checked earlier today at the Hyatt (internet rate/prevailing rate):10/20 - (300/330) 10/21 - (340/350)10/22 - (300/310)10/23 - (300/310)10/24 - (250/260)10/25 - (250/260)So accordingly the nite of the 21st is the most likely culprit (although there could always be other circumstances in addition to the above) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
bevans
Thank you for the comments. My wife has a friend that we will probably go see during the trip, so it looks like we need to make that on the 21. I will post back tomorrow (hopefully) with my results... Thanks again.Bryan Link to comment
travelgourmet
It's actually probably the weekend dates. The Head of the Charles is that weekend, so everything is probably booking up. Link to comment
bevans
Thanks again for the tips above.. I got Oct 24-26 for $50 / night at the Hyatt. We are now looking at the nights of the 20th and 21st, off to see friends for the other 2 dates.I tried the revere-logan area for these dates and was rejected, so I am guessing that either the 20 or 21 is still a problem night. For these dates, the location does not have to be near the airport as it did with the end, so if anyone has any suggestions, I would be interestedin hearing them. We have not really decided what we want to see yet, so I would say that a hotel or zone near the "T" would be nice. Airport shuttle would also be ideal, but we can get a cab from the airport ifnecessary. Thanks again for your help... This board has already saved us big $$$.Bryan Link to comment
