imy3 Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 Hello,We are planning to be in Vancouver during 5/26-28(29) and wanted some help with stay (bidding).I would prefer to stay closer to Stanley part if possible in Downtown if I can get a good price for 3.5 or 4 star hotel as the parking there also runs quite expensive ($20+).How much should I bid for 3.5 or 4 star in downtown for lat may? What should I expect to pay?I am ok to stay a few miles out of downtown if I am getting a better price for 3.5/4* hotel as we will have rental with us.Thanks for your help.

imy3 Posted May 13, 2009 Author Report Posted May 13, 2009 My plan is firm for arrival but I am waiting to have an idea of the weather which I can only know 10 days before the trip. If weather is good I will stay 3 days otherwise 2 days.
thereuare Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 You won't be able to bid until you know both your check-in and check-out dates.Since rates can change in the next couple of days, and rates can also change based upon the check-out date you choose, let us know once your plans are firm and we'll look at current rates at that time and suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. imy3 Posted May 15, 2009 Author Report Posted May 15, 2009 Ok finally got the hotel in vancouver for 5/26-28Started with $50 for 3.5* and was hoping for Renaissance Vancouver Hotel Harbourside as seen by some other getting tis hotel between $55-70 range. Got it with second try of $53.I think it is a great deal as for the same dates it comes to be around $200 on Expedia.I hope they don't give some crappy rooms for priceline customers...Used the PRICELINE link from here to make the booking
thereuare Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 Congratulations on your success!Nice to see you received the hotel you were hoping for... and at a great rate.Don't expect the top floor suite, but your room should be fine and well appointed, and certainly worth the $53/nite you paid :) If you're not happy with the room assigned you can always request a change, and if it's important to you enough, you can try Tipping the Front Desk which has worked wonders for some people (start about 5-6 posts down from the top)Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICLINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.
