Priceline Hotel: Help with Priceline 4* in St Pete Beach

Help with Priceline 4* in St Pete Beach. Just bid $70 for a 4 night stay 6.10 to 6.14. It was rejected. We want to get one of the Tradewinds hotels or something comparable. Any suggestions of how to proceed?

Last time I checked this area,the only 4* hotels are the Tradewinds Grand and the Don Cesar(the locals call it the"Pink Hotel"). The Don hardly ever comes up. Next time you bid,if unsuccessful,add other areas along that same area with your free re-bids one at a time and slowly raise you price each time......Clearwater Beach,Dunedin,Clearwater,Palm Harbour etc. These two are the only 4* reported in this whole area,so each time you bid,Priceline not only scans the new area but also St. Pete Beach again as well with your higher price. I have used this strategy 3 times and worked every time to get the TWG Resort. Check the hotel lists provided on these boards to make sure no other 4* have popped up,but I'm pretty confident that there are no new ones. Good luck!

Still no luck. Ideally want to keep nightly rate under $90. My sister in law got 6 nights at the Tradewinds for $55 a night June 7 to 14. I'm up to $75 for a 4* St Pete Beach and no luck yet. Is this a futile effort? Thoughts, suggestions great;y appreciated.
