Kitto Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 Hello,I am new to the site. Could anyone please advise what zone I should bid in Washington DC? I am planning to visit during the memorial day and my priority visit would be the white house and the national mall area.Thank you in advance,
thereuare Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! Not surprisingly the White House is located in the "White House-Downtown" zone :) with the Washington Mall being just below this zone as you can see on the PRICELINE map. The metro system (subway) system is pretty good in DC and the (Convention Ctr-Capitol Hill) and (Dupont Circle - Woodley Park) zones are popular as well. But you should go to PRICELINE and check the zone boundaries of each to see if any/all would work well fro your plans.Once you decide upon the zone(s) let us know your maximum bid, actual dates of your stay, and minimum star rating and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Kitto Posted May 26, 2009 Author Report Posted May 26, 2009 Looks like Amtrack to Union Station then metro/cab from there is the cheapest, as per the hotel's website:I took the B30 bus from BWI to Greenbelt station ($3.10) for 30 minutes and then took metrorail to Metro Center station ($3.70) for about 40 minutes. It's a little long but quite cheap if anyone wants to try. I also got an upgrade of the room from the hotel. Very nice.
