Looking to book two rooms in Chicago June 12-18th. Rooms need to be non-smoking. Searching hotwire came up with the following possibilities:

North Michigan Ave/Water Tower/Gold Coat

4* (4/5 travel advisor rating based on 60+ reviews)

non-smoking

fitness

pool

dining

business center

internet

tennis

$114 per night

Magnificent Mile Area

4* (no travel advisor rating)

boutique

non-smoking

fitness

dining

business center

internet

any ideas which hotels these may be. I'm thinking the first may be courtyard, based on the travel advisor rating.

Thanks for any help/advice.

Welcome to the site.

The first (NMA) hotel would likely be the Avenue, while the second (Mag Mile) property looks like a possible match for the Hotel Sax.

looks like I missed the possible Avenue bid, too bad. I now need three rooms for the same dates. Sticking with non-smoking properties, it looks like the possible Hotel Sax is the only 3*+ option available. Is there any likelihood that additional rooms will come available between now and June 12th.

There's no way to know for sure - if hotel traffic increases as the weather gets warmer and the economy starts to get a little better, prices could start to go higher.

I see the potential Hotel Sax on HOTWIRE as $169 on these dates when I look up 3 rooms/6 adults on HOTWIRE. As a cheaper suggestion, the new Hotel Felix is $141.75 per night on these dates on Expedia.com. Use coupon code 10MAY to take $10 off per night (will likely work for $10 off per night for one of the rooms ONLY, not all 3.)

still looking...

I now see a 4* Mag Mile property with the following:

non-smoking

finess center

pool

dining

business center

internet

3.5/5 travel advisor rating based on 340+ reviews

I'm still a rookie at this but it looks like the Sheraton Towers to me. Do you see any other possibilities?

PS I am traveling 6/12 to 6/18

Would appear to be the Sheraton, which is one my least favorite 4* properties in that zone (although it does have some benefits - I like the location and some rooms do have nice views.

This is showing for $165 (you may see a slightly different price.)

I see a 4.5* in the same zone for $143 - amenities: fitness, business, internet, restaurant. That would likely be the Intercontinental, which personally I think is far preferable over the Sheraton. There's also a 4* in the NMA/Water Tower/Gold Coast area for $129, as well.

In terms of the Sheraton for $165 versus the Intercontinental for $143, I'd pick the Intercontinental every time.
