light_travel Posted May 2, 2009 Report Posted May 2, 2009 Just pinned a hotel today after my first try using the same bidding strategy but with different *'s. Originally I wanted only Copley area but expanded to the Quincy based on location and seeing hotwire prices and other websites showed very high rates. When I started Priceline it indicated the cost for 4* was $1250, which dropped to $259 when I selected 3.5*. I had booked at the Sheraton as a back up for 228/night I am more then happy with 145/night for this hotel...And of course as always supporting the website by using your PRICELINE link...Bidding strategy was long as I was looking for 4* and ran through this strategy twice before realizing this might not happen. I reviewed the previous pinned hotels and reviews thought I would take a shot at 3.5* it took me one time through the 3.5* to pin the Marriott Long Wharf.4* Copley area starting at $105Add rebid 110Add rebid 115Add rebid 120Add rebid 1254* Quincy area starting at $105Add rebid 110Add rebid 115Add rebid 120Add rebid 1254* Copley & Quincy area starting at $130Add rebid 135Add rebid 140Add rebid 145Add rebid 150I then changed to 3.5* and did the same the only difference was that at 135 I was offered to increase $22 for guaranteed hotel, I declined and rebid two more times and hit at $150Have a good one guys, I hope this helps someone else...
