Priceline Hotel: Montreal bidding help -Can u win a hotel even if PL does not list it u

Hi all, I'm new to this forum. But I've bidded on PL before, but this time, I'm bidding for my elderly Uncle, so I want to be extra careful. I want to bid for Montreal, Downtown 4* for May 16 - 18. I've monitored PL for a few days now, and the only 4* hotel that is showing up when I did the search is OMNI. There has been no result from the other 4*'s such as Hilton, Sheraton, Intercontinental..etc. Can I take this as having a high possibility that I'll get OMNI if I bid at the right price?

The problem is, OMNI is about the only hotel in this zone in the 4* level that I do NOT want. What's everyone's experience? Have you gotten a win on a hotel even when PL didn't list it on your search results?

Are you using PRICELINE's "retail" area to determine what you will get thru the "name your own price" part of their site? If not, this shouldn't be done, as per the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ.

If you're trying to target, or avoid, a particular property then HOTWIRE may be a better option as you can take an educated guess as to what you may received before your purchase based upon the amenities shown.
