Double_Downon11 Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 A number of us are going to be travelling to Montreal in July for a wedding and we are going to need a number of rooms for our stay. Here are the details:July 16th - July 19th (Thursday till Sunday)Wedding at the Hyatt Regency - MontrealRooms Needed - 6-8 (final number is being confirmed)According to the Priceline list there are three hotels in the 3.5* rating as the Hyatt. The others are the Marriott Chateau and Embassy Suites. At the prices I have seen the Hyatt and Embassy Suites going on Priceline ($50-$60) for we would be happy to get any of the three because they are fairly close. My question is what is the best way to book that many rooms for that many nights. Should I break it up? I can probably put them on one credit card or maybe two credit cards but wanted to see what people's thoughts were. Any help would be appreciated. I will of course be using the betterbidding PRICELINE link once we decide to book. Thanks in advance for your help.-Chris
Double_Downon11 Posted April 30, 2009 Author Report Posted April 30, 2009 I just realized you can book multiple rooms at once with Priceline so that answers that question. I should be okay to figure this out now.
thereuare Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 Just an additional FYI if it helps, or for anyone else following along...Currently on PRICELINE you can "name your own price" for up to 9 rooms in one transaction.... with HOTWIRE you can search for up to 6 rooms at once.To ensure they're all at the same hotel make all room purchases with one purchase, if you make multiple purchases (even if simultaneously with everyone clicking the "buy" button at the same time) you could end up with different properties. Thanks for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links for your purchase(s), let us know how we can be of further help. Double_Downon11 Posted May 2, 2009 Author Report Posted May 2, 2009 I was able to book four rooms at the 3.5* Hyatt Regency in Montreal for three nights from July 16th till July 19th at a price of $63 USD per night plus tax. The rate on their website is $200 Cdn per night plus tax so we are extremely happy!I used the PRICELINE link on the site and thanks as always to the board for their help.
thereuare Posted May 2, 2009 Report Posted May 2, 2009 Congratulations on your success!Glad to hear you, and the rest of the group, are happy with the results. Certainly looks like a great deal and the savings really start to add up quick with a multi-nite/multi-room purchase. As well, just re-read yoru first post and it looks like this is the wedding location so it couldn't have worked out any better!Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICLINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay. Double_Downon11 Posted May 2, 2009 Author Report Posted May 2, 2009 Add two more rooms to the previous total of 4. The bride and groom (to be) negiotiated a price of $159 per night with the hotel for the group to stay so the savings for us is awesome. Thanks again.
thereuare Posted May 3, 2009 Report Posted May 3, 2009 GREAT!!Once all your rooms are confirmed, do have somebody let the bride/groom know that you booked on your outside of the wedding rate. They will likely get a list of their guests who are booked at the hotel, and may wonder where you're staying since you're in from out of town and not on their list of reservation (they may also plan a goody bag for you too :) )Have fun at the wedding!
