chand Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 Hi,I need help finding a good deal on 2 rooms in the Niagara Falls USA side. I am willing to spend up to $90 per room. I tried bidding on priceline twice, once with 65 oer night and then again with 75 for a 3.5* but no luck so far. I also tried reducing the level to 2.5+ but still no luck. The date I am looking for is 5/23 - 1 night for 2 rooms. Unfortunately my dates are not flexible as I have out of country visitors.Would appreciate any help!!
thereuare Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!Rates look high for these dates, what is the best available rate you're able to find thru conventional booking channels? What is your gameplan if you're not successful up to $90?Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. chand Posted April 30, 2009 Author Report Posted April 30, 2009 Hello..If I search priceline and hotwire the conventional way, prices seem to be at 140 for a 2* - if I do not find anything my last option would be to pay what it costs - but I need 2 rooms and it would be great if I can save some money here...Thanks for your help..
thereuare Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 I tried bidding on priceline twice, once with 65 oer night and then again with 75 for a 3.5*I took a closer look at this and there is no 3.5* bidding currently offered in the Niagara Falls NY zone... did you include some other zone(s) in your bidding OR did you perhaps bid 3*?Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. chand Posted May 1, 2009 Author Report Posted May 1, 2009 hi I'm sorry - I actually bid for 3* - for Niagara and East Niagara Zones - I am now thinking of Buffalo -Amherst but I'm not sure of the distance to niagara falls from this place -any ideas? Thanks!
thereuare Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 Google Maps put's the distance at about a half hour.Do you want to include this zone in your bidding now, or do you first want to try up to your limit in the Niagara Falls zone? If the latter, did you want to try up to your limit first for a 3* hotel and then lower to the next available star level OR are you looking for the least expensive 2.5* or better hotel for this nite?Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. chand Posted May 1, 2009 Author Report Posted May 1, 2009 Hi,Last nite I already tried bidding upto $90 for the two zones I started with - no luck. I then included the Buffalo-Amherst zone and bid at $85 for 3* - rejected. I can go down to 2.5* too - but I really would like not to go below 2.5...How do you suggest I proceed? I can increase my bid to $100 if neededThanks again!
thereuare Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 Before you bid again i would determine a clear strategy and bid systematically... given your rejections last nite, do you want to try again for a 3* hotel in the Niagara Falls(NY) and (Buffalo-Amherst) zones OR do you want to first try for a 2.5* property in either of these zones (which it doesn't appear you have bid at all at the 2.5* level, correct?)Is your maximum bid still $100?Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. chand Posted May 2, 2009 Author Report Posted May 2, 2009 I just tried bidding for 2.5* including the buffalo-amherst zone for $95 - still no luck. I will give it a shot again tomorrow - and go upto $110.
chand Posted May 3, 2009 Author Report Posted May 3, 2009 I bid at $105 for 2.5* and my bid just got accepted - Hotel Indigo Buffalo Amherst. Thank you again for your help
thereuare Posted May 3, 2009 Report Posted May 3, 2009 Congratualtions on your success!Glad to see PRICELINE finally came thru for you. Hopefully you're happy with the results and this works well for your needs.I've indicated in your topic title that this is a 3* property as i believe this is PRICELINE's currently rating for this property... can you please doublecheck the star rating on your winning bid confirmation page and confirm that is the current star rating for this property (it's possible you bid for a 2.5* hotel but were upgraded to a 3* rated hotel)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay. Gramercy Girl Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Can you please list the amenities associated with your win at the Hotel Indigo? The star ratings seem to change from time to time, but seeing the amenities might help distinguish this from the Marriott. Thank you.
thereuare Posted May 21, 2009 Report Posted May 21, 2009 ... it's HOTWIRE that shows amenity icons. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
