Targeting any 4 * Vancouver downtown hotel. Started bidding at $66 and used free rebid zones up to $80

also watching hotwire. Rooms on hotwire seem to be scarce and higher priced on these dates ( over $100) is there a major event happening on this weekend?

any other time it appears deals are available for under $100.

If you're seeing inflated rates for these dates than something is happening in town.

I see a few events, including the May Day Rally and March, but not familiar with them or how large of a crowd they draw. As well, it's the start of cruise ship season and you 2 ships in port on the 2nd and one ship on the 3rd (many of these passengers will arrive a day early before embarkastion and those getting off the ship may stay a day in the city after their cruise)... all of this creates additional demand which could lead to an increase in hotel rates.
