kathygnome Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 Getting something in Seattle was a horror--maybe because of checking out in the middle of the long weekend? I've been bidding daily for two weeks without joy--starting at 3-4 star Pike and recently going down to 2 star Pike/Space Needle at various prices that I felt were reasonable deals based on previous winning bids in the forum.Today had 80 for 4 star pike rejected, tried 66 and 3.5 stars rejected, 3.0 and 66 dollars accepted. I've bid 65 for a 3 star for the past 3 or 4 days without any joy, so I added one today almost out of superstition.Used the betterbidding PRICELINE link.
thereuare Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 Congratulations on your success!Glad you were ultimatley found a win at just $1 more than your previous bid at this star level. I suspect the long weekend may have played a factor, but demand goes up in Seattle just about this time as the weather starts to get much nicer, and more importantly for the hotel industry, cruise ship season starts. As it always does, it comes down to supply vs. demand, and the seasonal factors (weather and cruisers) tend to drive up prices a little vs. the previous months.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICLINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.
