banana8884 Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 So i have never used priceline or hotwire before and i am really not sure where to begin. I was going to start the bid at $120 but i am not sure if it is too little. How long does the bidding have to go on for before i have to accept. Or as long as it's not 120 i am not obligated to purchase it? Thank you so much for your help.
thereuare Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! This is a good place to start: I've Never Used Priceline or Hotwire as it gives an overview of the similarities, and differences, between PRICELINE and HOTWIREHow long does the bidding have to go on for before i have to accept. Or as long as it's not 120 i am not obligated to purchase it?Essentially you will makey a bid for a hotel room, once you submit that bid PRICELINE will see if they can get any hotels to accept that offer... if so you will then be told the name of the hotel and you own the hotel room for those nites (ie- no refunds or cancellations). If they can't find any hotel to accept your bid, you'll receive a message stating such, and that bid is now "done" and if you want to try again you'll need to submit another bid.Once you've read the link above feel free to ask any questions you have and/or let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. banana8884 Posted April 29, 2009 Author Report Posted April 29, 2009 On HOTWIRE i can get the following hotel for $133 a night. ( Waikiki beach area) 4* hotelBeachfront Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities Travel information:6.7 miles to Honolulu Intl. (HNL) Can you help me identify what it might be? I was also wondering if there is anywhere i can request a non smoking room on here?
thereuare Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 The HOTWIRE property above is a match for the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach so that would be our best guess. After you receive a hotel you can all them and enter your request for a non-smoking room (as well as any other requestions you may have, such as bedding configuration). Most hotels do what they can to honor such requests, but it is just a request and no guarantees that the hotel will be able, or willing, to accomodate your request. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.EDIT TO ADD: assuming we're correct on the identifcation above, a little research indicates that the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach is a Smoke Free property, so you shouldn't have any issues with receiving a non-smoking room Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
