Got an AWESOME deal for the evening of June 21. 3.5* Sheraton in Brookfield for $37. We want to go a day earlier but I can't crack the wall. I added 3 other zones, moved down to 3* and bumped the price to $50 but was denied. Must be a Father's Day thing. I looked in Travelocity and the less attractive hotels want a minimum of $60.

Not sure if there's any advice here. We're driving up from Illinois so maybe we just wait until a couple days before and try our luck again.

I don't think you're too far off... how high are you willing to bid for this stay or would you prefer to just wait it out?

HOTWIRE has 3.5* (best guess the Hilton) and 3* (best guess the Residence Inn... which gets great reviews) properties in the Downtown zone for $67 and $77 respectively.

Would either of these work for your needs?

True, but for the 3* property all-in at $85 it doesn't seem too bad considering it includes breakfast vs. the 'less desirable' $60 properties (which don't include taxes and fees either)... so it comes down to if $15-$20 is worth it for free breakfast and a 'known' good hotel.

I'm not saying it is or isn't, nor that you need to grab thsi right now, but something to keep in mind if you continue to have difficulty finding success at your current budget.

My wife just sent me a note that she got the Radisson in Pewaukee. With fees, it came to about $75. We're going to visit a friend of hers and she was very keen on adding the extra day. I'm sorry, but I doubt she used your link because she's not familiar with it.

Thanks for your advice. I'll be sure to use the link in the future.

Thanks for sharing the win with the board and helping us add this property to the Priceline Hotel List.

I've guestimated your winning bid to be ~$60/nite before fees and taxes, can you please add a reply to this thread once you confirm with your wife the amount of the winning bid.

Also, if both you and your wife will be placing bids in the future, please be sure to let her know about our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links.

Thanks.

The actual bid was $55. She tried several other zones but always at 3*. She's not familiar with Priceline bidding strategy.

I'll be sure she uses the BB links in the future.
