vacationator Posted April 29, 2009 Author Report Posted April 29, 2009 I have been bidding on PRICELINE, but with no luck as of yet. Would you be able to ID this (Rome Central $139) Hotel in a weeks time ? i can keep on bidding on PRICELINE and keep this as my second option
vacationator Posted April 29, 2009 Author Report Posted April 29, 2009 Can you help identify a 4* Hotel in Rome Central, on Hotwire - $136 June 3-7'09Amenities include: Complimentary Breakfast and InternetThanks...
thereuare Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread.Would you be able to ID this (Rome Central $139) Hotel in a weeks time ?It's not a matter of not having tried... there simply isn't enough information provided by HOTWIRE to take an eduated guess. The HOTWIRE Rome zone is quite large and there are likely dozens of 4* hotels in this zone that offer the commom amenities that HOTWIRE lists above. For what star rating and how high have you bid on PRICELINE?Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
vacationator Posted April 29, 2009 Author Report Posted April 29, 2009 The highest i have bid is $145 for a 4* in Central Rome. The 4* hotel for $139 isn't showing up on Hotwire anymore for June 3-7, currently they just have a 4* for $136 (complimentary breakfast and internet)
thereuare Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 HOTWIRE will only show you one hotel at each star level in each zone (the lowest priced property is the one which will be offered)Unfortunately i'm not sure which property this is either. :)How high are you willing to bid for a 4* thru PRICELINE?Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. vacationator Posted April 30, 2009 Author Report Posted April 30, 2009 The highest i'm willing to bid for a 4* is $150, do you think i have a chance? or should i choose a different area ?Thanks for your guidance!!
thereuare Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 Yes, there is a chance, we we don't see too much bidding in this zone to have a high degree of confidence in how much it will take. What is the best available rate you're able to find thru conventional booking channels? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. vacationator Posted April 30, 2009 Author Report Posted April 30, 2009 Best available rate that i came across was $176 for a 4* the range is from $176-$399Thanks..
thereuare Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 What hotel was that? Is it one that you would stay in? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
vacationator Posted May 1, 2009 Author Report Posted May 1, 2009 What hotel was that? Is it one that you would stay in?Some of the 4* Hotels in that range, with good reviews are "Hotel Torino, Hotel Royal Santina & Hotel Morgana" they are all centerally located - if i don't succeed in bidding on Priceline or Hotwire -i'll just have to pick one of them..
thereuare Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 If any of the non-opaque options are cancellable without penalty i would reserve one of them as a back-up and then continue to try to do better with PRICELINE or HOTWIRE. However, given the size of the zone i wouldn't bid too high as knowing the property had a good location would be worth paying a bit more than taking the chance on an opaque property in this area, imo. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Keep us updated and let us know if we can be of further help along the way. vacationator Posted May 1, 2009 Author Report Posted May 1, 2009 I bid upto 145 for a 4* Rome Central and was declined today. My second bid was $100 for a 4* Vatican City hotel which was accepted, the hotel is Atlante Garden. It has good reviews, isn't in the perfect location but with the price i got, i can't make any complaints. Thank you for all your help and guidance - it is much appreciated !!! I'm sure we'll chat again, next year - ciao :0 )
