Priceline Hotel: 2* Boulder (Louisville) La Quinta

First tried $33 for 2.5* in Louisville.... rejected

then tried $34 for 2* in Louisville .... rejected

Finally changed to $40 (i was running out of things i could change!) for 2* in Louisville and Boulder..... accepted.

I know the hotel it has given me, it is very nice.... better than the 3* hotel i stayed in Phoenix last week (Holiday inn).

Free Internet, and the free breakfast is not bad.

Correct.

It seems advantageous to start with just ONE of the locations, and if the bid is rejected then add the other.

If you start by accepting both regions, then you can't subsequently "change" your bid by removing one of the locations.
