heng Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 Hello,Am trying to bid for 2 rooms from 5/12 - 5/16. Tried the following but no luck. Any idea if any major events happening during the dates I am staying?(1) 4* in TS or MTE, bid up to $141(2) 3.5* in TS, bid up to $105I am not willing to add MTW as I am worried I will get Sheraton hotels and towers which I did not read good reviews abt.Is $141 for (1) reasonable? Or I am not being realistic?Likewise, is $105 reasonable for (2)?regards and thanks for helping!
AaronJB Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 Welcome to the site. Keep in mind with reviews that many of those people are paying full price, which may be 2 or 3 times what the PRICELINE or HOTWIRE rate may be.Rates do seem somewhat higher on your dates, but not as bad as NYC can get. I don't think $105 is going to be reasonable for a 3.5*, but $141 may not be too far off for a 4*. What is your max budget per night? Please use the site's PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links.
heng Posted April 26, 2009 Author Report Posted April 26, 2009 Hi Aaron,For 4*, my max is $150. What do you think? What would be realistic for 3.5* for TS?cheers
thereuare Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 Before moving foward, to clairfy... i understand your reason for leaving out the MTW zone from your bidding, but is there a reason you're not including the CPS or ESB in your 4* bidding? Also, is there a reason why you're only willing to consider the TS zone at the 3.5* level? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. heng Posted April 27, 2009 Author Report Posted April 27, 2009 Hello,I have looked at the various zones, and some hotel reviews, and decided that we would like to stay at TS or MTE. I understand that the transport are very efficient, but these are our desired locations.Of course, if the desired location is above our budget, then I would have to consider to include other locations as well. For 3.5*, I have likewise done the same and check the list of 3.5* possible hotels in other zones. I am not comfortable with the hotels listed in other zones.FYI, I will be travelling with 2 young children (less than 4 yrs old). In case there's any other thing that I would need to consider.cheers!
thereuare Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy (and you'll be three?? (or four??)) and you could receive a room with only one bed, with little or no room for a rollaway... would this be a situation you could work around? If not, HOTWIRE would still be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. thereuare Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 Sorry, i missed that above...Rates are high for these dates, and based upon your failed bids, we know that at the moment $141 is not enough for a 4* in the MTE or TS zone nor is $105 enough for a 3.5* in the TS zone. What is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable hotel in any of the above star level/zone combinations? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
